“Healing doesn’t mean the damage never existed. It means the damage no longer controls our lives.”
Hello and welcome to Simply Healing.
This blog was born from a quiet, personal need—a need to breathe, to rest, and to make sense of my own healing journey. For a long time, I’ve helped others find their strength. As a guidance counselor and teacher, I’ve sat with many people through moments of confusion, pain, growth, and clarity.
But lately, I’ve had to become my own counselor. My own safe space.
Healing, I’ve come to learn, isn’t always a straight path. It doesn’t always look like yoga poses, glowing skin, or inspirational quotes. Sometimes, it looks like sitting in your room with puffy eyes and not knowing what comes next. Sometimes, it’s saying no to something that used to define you. Or waking up and simply deciding: “Today, I’ll try again.”
For me, healing began the moment I chose softness over shame. When I let go of what I thought my life “should” look like and started embracing what my soul truly needed—quiet mornings, honest feelings, slow living, nature, furry companions, and space to breathe.
Simply Healing isn’t about fixing yourself. It’s about being with yourself, gently. It’s about allowing your inner world to be messy and real—and still worthy of love.
This blog will be a place for reflections, soft reminders, and soul care. It’s not about perfection. It’s about permission—to rest, to grow, and to heal in your own time.
Thank you for being here.
May this space hold your heart kindly, just as it’s beginning to hold mine.
With love,
Ms. Aloha D. Shore
